You may notice a few changes as you browse around the new site…Actually, this is the first major redevelopment of the site since I took over running it back in 2003. It’s more than just a re-design – the site has been completely re-built from scratch. Last year I came up with an idea to re-develop this site to make it much more interactive and easily scaleable so that it could grow to become a complete archive of everything Deacon Blue and Ricky Ross has ever done. To achieve this I had to find a solution that was easy to use, easy to update, and that people could log-in to and interact with. Essentially what I have now created is the Deacon Blue & Ricky Ross online community. The first difference you may notice is the login feature on the homepage. If you were an existing forum member, you may login to the new site using your forum username and password. Once logged in, you will be able to access the interactive features of the site such as adding comments to articles, submitting links, adding photos, and posting on the forum. In addition to this you will also become part of the Deacon Blue & Ricky Ross online community which will allow you to create your own profile and interact with other members of the community by establishing links between you and sending personal messages and much more to come in the future. On the Gallery page, if you are logged in you can click on ‘Your Album’ to create your very own photo album to upload your DB & RR photos. The new site is very much still work in progress so there will be lots more features and content added over the coming months. Registered users will get the benefit of receiving email updates and acing addition content and special offers. There is probably lots more I could say but the best way to discover what’s new is to explore the site for yourself. Just wanted to say what a great job you have made with the new site. Very easy to use and like you say plenty of space for the future. As a part time web designer myself I realise how much effort you have put into this, excellent work, thanks!
